Bloodshed and conquest still echo throughout the Battlefields and we offer a range of tours that explore this historic region. On each tour, you will be accompanied by an experienced guide with all transport, specified meals and drinks, and entrance fees included. You will visit the famous battle sites and learn about the rise and fall of the Zulu Kingdom, and the Anglo-Boer conflict.
The following tours are offered of the Battlefields:
1 Day Spioenkop Experience: A day tour from Durban that takes in the Battle of Spioenkop, a key point during the Anglo-Zulu War
1 Day Aero Tour: The most efficient way to make the most of the Battlefields in a day. Fly from Durban to Ladysmith, learn about the Siege and defence of the town, and take in Spioenkop too.
2 Days Bloody Encounters Tour: Visit the historic battlefields of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift, where the British Army suffered their biggest defeat and then their biggest victory all in the course of one day. Stay in luxury accommodation and also visit Spioenkop, Ladysmith and the capture site of Winston Churchill.
3 Days Self-Drive: Explore the region at your own pace, meeting specialist guides at each stop. Visit Isandlwana, Rorke's Drift, Spioenkop, the capture site of Winston Churchill and relive the British loss at Colenso and their triumph at Tugela Heights.
4 Days Horseback Experience: Take in the Battlefields from horseback as if you were a British soldier. Visit Rorke's Drift, Isandlwana, Ladysmith, Platrand, Spioenkop and Vaalkrantz.
4 Days Origins Tour: Start off by paying a visit to Willowgrange and the capture site of Winston Churchill. Then relive the battles of Ladysmith, Colenso and Spioenkop, as well as the Anglo-Zulu epics of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift, before finishing up at the Talana Museum.
