With just eight well appointed and luxurious tents decorated and built in the old colonial safari style, exclusivity is gauranteed at Thula Thula Luxury Tented Camp. Enjoy a private living experience and couple that with the chance to enjoy a private candle-lit dining experience and you have the perfect blend for an intimate romantic safari. Enjoy the view from your private viewing deck from where you can spot all sorts of wildlife trotting, walking, running, flying and crawling past. Or jump into a warm foam filled bath or a hot outside shower and wash the worries away.

When it comes time to eat a buffet lunch is served outside the thatched bar or sometimes next to the swimming pool. Or dine next to the roaring fire in the traditional boma and savour the taste of a traditional South African dish called a 'potjie' which is a game meat and vegetable stew cooked in a cast iron pot in the fire for an entire day!

Thula Thula Private Game Reserve

Thula Thula, the oldest private game reserve in Kwazulu Natal, once part of the private hunting grounds of legendary Zulu King Shaka, founder of the Zulu Empire, is today home to the Big 4 with buffalo, elephant, rhino, leopard, giraffe, hyenas, crocodile, nyala, kudu, wildebeest, zebra and many more, as well as 370 species of birds ,including raptors. Game walks are guided by experienced trackers and allow you to get closer and more in touch with nature. Game drives are conducted in open landrovers by professional and knowledgeable rangers. Many additional attractions are available on request: Massage Therapy, St Lucia Estuary boat cruises, Zulu Cultural Village, Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game reserve (Cengeni Gate), Indian Ocean Beaches, Whale watching (From June to October), 18 Hole Golf Course, Anglo-Zulu Battlefields.
