Day 1–4: Makakatana Bay Lodge

On arrival at Richards Bay Airport you will collect your hire car and self drive to the Makakatana Bay Lodge which is situated on Lake St Lucia on Kwa Zulu Natal’s subtropical coast. Exploring the lake, birdwatching, game viewing and diving are just a few of the activities on offer. Days at Makakatana Bay Lodge are full and the lodge makes the perfect home at the end of your day.

Spending time on the lake in a boat or canoe is a favourite activity offer by the lodge, but there is plenty else to do too. There are glorious beaches to explore, and guests are encourages to take guided walks right into the heart of the wetlands on the eastern and western shores.

Day 4-7: Amakhozi Lodge

Heading north this morning you will self drive yourself to Amakhozi Lodge in Northern KwaZulu Natal. The varied ecosystem of savannah, mountains and wetlands allow for quality Big Five game viewing as well as cheetah, giraffe, warthog, hyena and more than 17 types of antelope including the magnificent Nyala and rare red duiker. The wetlands area is an ideal ecosystem inhabited by crocodile, hippopotamus and over 430 species of birds.

Day 7: End of Services

This morning you will enjoy a morning activity and breakfast before driving back to Richards Bay or Durban where you will drop off your hire car and continue with your onward travel arrangements.
