Kwazulu Natal Safaris

Kwazulu Natal Safari offer diversity of habitats as well as the Big Five !

Kwazulu Natal is a popular place to go on safari. Kwazulu Natal safari areas are known for their biological and ecological diversity. In many of the reserves you will find a unique mix of forest, woodland, savanna, rivers, grasslands, coastal dunes and grasslands. Several of the reserves have restored the bushveld back to its natural state having been overgrazed and over farmed. Traditional Zulu communities live in close proximity and the area serves as an example of progressive and forward thinking ecotourism.

Hluhluwe Umfolozi is a national park and home to the big five, and was most successful in increasing the number of White and Black Rhino and many of Africa’s originate from this area. Established in 1991 Phinda Private Game Reserve is home to some of the most luxurious safari lodges in the area – Phinda Rock Lodge and Phinda Vlei Lodge are the most impressive, whilst Phinda Mountain Lodge is built on a hill and has notable view. Phinda Forest Lodge is a modern lodge where walls have become windows and your suite affords you panoramic views of the Sand Forest. Lake St Lucia was recently declared a World Heritage Site and Makatana Bay Lodge and Hluhluwe River Lodge make great places from which to explore the area.
