This tour incorporates an exhilarating Safari experience with a visit to Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Begin your tour with 3 nights in a luxury suite at Exeter River Lodge which is idyllically situated overlooking the Sand River and experience some close encounters with the Big Five. Then fly to Cape Town and spend 4 nights at the four-star Portswood Hotel in the world-famous V&A Waterfront and explore the city’s plethora of scenic attractions.

Day 1 – 4: Exeter River Lodge, Sabi Sands Game Reserve, Kruger National Park

After arriving at Johannesburg (JHB) International Airport your transfer to Exeter River Lodge will take approximately 2 hours. Your flight leaves in the morning which means you will get to the lodge in time for a delicious lunch.

A Rhino Africa representative will meet you at JHB airport and escort you to your connecting flight on a 19-seater pressurised plane. The flight duration is 1½ hours. Upon arrival at the airstrip you will be met by an Exeter representative who will escort you to the lodge with a 20-minute scenic game drive.

And so your Safari adventure will begin…

Exeter River Lodge offers the discerning traveller an opportunity to completely relax and unwind in luxurious comfort and at the same time ignite a deep passion for Africa through explorations of the African bush. The wealth of exciting activities available at Exeter is balanced with the opportunity to simply relax at your private plunge pool. Or you can while away the afternoon from your private viewing deck that overlooks a watering hole where elephants and other friends come to drink.

After waking up to a beautiful African sunrise, a typical day at Exeter begins with early morning coffee and cake before you set out for your safari. A sumptuous breakfast awaits you when you return exhilarated from your Big Five sightings. You are then at your leisure to suntan and swim, go on a bush walk, visit the curio shop or take a nap to recover from your early morning start! Lunch is served on the elevated thatched viewing deck and encourages you to sample fine African cuisine. After mid-afternoon tea and snacks you will depart on the open-air Land Rover for your Sundowner Safari as the African sun sets.

All game drives use open Landrovers to ensure that you get the best possible photographic opportunities. Off-road driving means that you can follow and track animals as they go into the thicker bush and unlike other areas you are not restricted to viewing animals from the confines of a road.

Day 4 – 8: The Portswood Hotel, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town
After breakfast and your last early morning game drive, you will be transferred back to the airstrip for your journey to Cape Town. You will take a short plane ride to the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) from where you will connect directly to Cape Town without having to go via Johannesburg. On arrival at Cape Town you will be met and transferred via shuttle to the Portswood Hotel in the V&A Waterfront. The 4-star hotel has all modern amenities, including a swimming pool to soothe your bones after a busy day of sight-seeing. The V&A Waterfront is centrally located amidst shops, excellent restaurants and cafés and is an ideal location from which to explore the vibrant city of Cape Town.

Day 8: End Of Services
