Thornybush Main Lodge Description

Thornybush Game Reserve's exclusive Main Lodge with stylish air-conditioned suites and extensive living areas over looks the seasonal Monwana River. From within the suites, each with full ensuite facilities, outdoor shower and private decks, sweeping vistas can be enjoyed over the savannah and ever active water hole.Unrivalled big game viewing is complemented by exquisite accommodation and sublime cuisine. Superb attention to detail and highly personalised service make for a memorable stay.

Between exciting safaris, while away the moments at the Guerlain Institute. Your choice may be to experience the gentle attentions of the Guerlain trained therapists, or perhaps a deep body exfoliating massage will provide ultimate relaxation. Thornybush is ideally suited to a broad range of conference requirements and are capable of hosting groups from 8 to 60 people.

Thornybush Main Lodge : Game Viewing

On arrival at Thornybush Main Lodge you will be met by your ranger and or lodge manager who will explain the programme to you. You will spend the duration of your visit at the lodge with this ranger. A specially modified four wheel drive vehicle designed to carry between 6 and 10 guests is used to bring you to within close proximity of Africa's big game including the big 5.

The capabilities of the vehicle are such that it is able to traverse fairly rough terrain, with the exception of ecologically sensitive areas particularly after rain. The vehicle does not have a roof or sides and allows for maximum all-round visibility. You could find yourself getting close to big game, this should not alarm you provided you observe the basic do's and don't's as discussed by your ranger prior to and during your safari.

Thornybush Main Lodge is situated within the Thornybush Game Reserve and is approximately 50km (30min) from Hoedspruit. Scheduled flights fly daily to Hoedpsruit, and from here guests are transferred to the Lodge. Chartered flights can be arranged directly to the lodge airstrip.
