Nkelenga Tented Camp General Information

Nkelenga Tented Camp is a luxury self-catering tented camp in Thornybush Private Game reserve near the Kruger National Park. Comprising a family house with a mezzanine loft for the kids and three en suite doubles the lodge is available as a unit offering freedom and privacy. The tented rooms are air conditioned and have en suite bathrooms and private balconies. The living area houses the lounge, dining room, kitchen, sun deck and swimming pool.

Beneath a canopy of acacia trees and surrounded by soft lawn, Nekelenga lodge looks out over a waterhole and the African wilderness teeming with wildlife and birds and devoid of people or any sign of civilisation for hectare after hectare – 11,500 of them to be precise. Thornybush being a private reserve, your game drives are in open vehicles and your professional ranger will take you on fascinating bush walks and night safaris.

There is plenty to see and do in Thornybush Private Game Reserve not least of which is the exceptional wilderness experience with 147 animals – including rhino, lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, hyena, several antelope species and a host of nocturnal creatures. Birding is excellent with over 500 species on record in the park alone; hot air ballooning is fast becoming the must-do attraction of the Kruger area and you will see why; around the park there are many attractions including wildlife rehabilitation centres, golf courses, adventure activities and nature excursions.
