Chapungu Lodge General Information

Chapungu Lodge has the hallmarks of a classic African safari lodge: a large thatched living opens onto a pool deck beneath a canopy of trees and looks out over the tangled growth of a flourishing nature reserve. Chapungu Lodge is one of a handful of lodges in the privately owned Thornybush Game Reserve on the edge of the Kruger National Park. Eight luxury tented Meru-style suites fan out from the main lodge. With king size beds, air conditioning, private balconies and naughty open-air bathrooms the luxury and romance are as seductive as the raw energy of the African wilderness that surrounds you for countless miles in all directions.Chapungu Lodge offers outdoor dining – that bastion of African safaris – to the light of a central campfire and accompanied by the sounds of the night. But it's not all rough and ready – you can select your wine for the evening from a well-stocked cellar and the dining area in the main lodge is rather civilised. The lounge has open sides that spill out onto a veranda and a lawned garden.

First you will only share your magical moments of seeing Africa's famous wildlife with the other lodge guests – not a battalion of hired cars jostling for front row.
