About Mala Mala Sable CampA stylish addition to the MalaMala Game Reserve, Mala Mala Sable Camp is the smallest of the three lodges in this enormous private reserve. Peaking through thickets of riverine forest, the thatched suites – six of them including the palatial Lion's Den – provide every conceivable luxury and the décor is a lavish Afro-colonial chic. The lodge looks out over the perennial Sand River and every opportunity to soak up the view, the night sky and the African bush has been taken: rustic decks, a boma for fireside al fresco dining, and the rooms themselves have large bush-facing verandahs. The main lodge is packed with African artworks and colonial relics. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed and thoroughly inviting. The list of facilities reads like a modern city hotel and, should the wilderness become tiresome, there is no end of enjoyable distractions.
