The Graskop Hotel

The Graskop Hotel General Information

The Graskop Hotel is several breaths of fresh air coming at you from all directions. Modest in its luxury and amenities but proud in its vibrant and eclectic décor, you cannot help but be enchanted by the ingenuity of the hotel's design and the friendliness of its staff. In the attractive mountain village of Graskop, the hotel has 19 en suite rooms in the main building and 15 garden suites in a motel-like configuration facing a lush garden. The rooms in the hotel were decorated by South African artists – and they've gone to town, and back, twice; the garden suites are somewhat more reserved.

The dining area at the Graskop Hotel blends into the living area and both share the same light airy feel, pine-coloured wooden floors and a brilliant display of colourful artworks. The garden has a large oval pool as its centrepiece and sculptures leap out of the undergrowth at every turn. Next door to the hotel is Harrie's – a decadent pancake shop that's going to take over the world.

The Graskop Hotel – nature, history and a world-famous pancake

The gallery rooms, the art gallery, the pancake shop, the sculpture garden, the swimming pool... you could spend a day going from place to place inside the Graskop Hotel. But do venture out, the Mpumalanga region is rich in natural beauty and steeped in history and cultural heritage. About 50km from Graskop lies one of the greatest game reserves in Africa – the Kruger National Park. Take a guided safari or go it alone, then visit the scenic attractions of the Panoramic Route: several spectacular waterfalls, God's Window, Bourke's Potholes, Mac Mac Falls and 101 views of the Blyde River Canyon. Outdoor adventure abounds with all manner of exhilarating encounters heightened by the rarefied country air.
