Critchley Hackle Lodge Description

Critchley Hackle Lodge’s setting is unique and breathtaking. Built in pointed stone and set around a beautiful garden lake, the lodge offers 23 beautifully appointed rooms and luxury suites, many of which are set on the edge of the lake.

The interior of the lodge is decorated with gorgeous, original antiques and paintings and gives off an aura of peace and dignity. The very private bedroom cottages, all with bathrooms en suite, have been individually and personally decorated for your comfort and luxury. Rooms are delightful and spacious, with a cosy lounge, log fireplace, TV , private patio and telephone.

Sip a vintage wine in the bar or enjoy fine dining by candlelight to the sight and sounds of an African evening. Activities include lounging at the swimming pool, trout fishing, trap shooting, falconry displays and of-course shopping in Dullstroom which is within easy walking distance and has many upmarket shops, pubs and craft stores.

Dullstroom in Mpumalanga has lovely sleepy-hollow farms, rivers and dams and is thus a great place for the avid fisherman. Get a picnic lunch and go off to the river to catch some elusive Trout. Dullstroom is one of the best places for Trout fishing in South Africa.

Should you want to test your skills and enjoy an afternoon of trout fishing, tackle is available from the lodge at a nominal charge.

At Critchley Hackle Lodge you can relax in the beautiful gardens all spread around the lake whilst the trout rise and ducks play. At night the lake and gardens are lit up.
