Casa do Sol Description

Casa do Sol is a family run hotel in the South African province of Mpumalanga. Close to all scenic attractions that the lush area has to offer such as God’s Window and the Blyde River Canyon.

The hotel offers 17 standard rooms, 11 mini-suites, 25 suites and an Executive suite. Standard rooms are all en suite and wooden cottage doors lead out to the gardens and some have their own private gardens.

Suites are clustered around a picturesque green where O'Estabulo Restaurant and a cosy bar create a village atmosphere. Suites offer a fully stocked cocktail cabinet, private enclosed gardens and a comfortable lounge area. The executive suite has a large sitting room opening onto a patio, with a jacuzzi, sauna and private pool in an enclosed garden.

All accommodation has air conditioning, Satellite TV, radio, and telephones and fresh fruit and flowers are replaced daily. The Casa do Sol restaurants are renowned for excellent food and their exceptional wines.

Casa do Sol: Indigeneous Bush

With an acute consciousness of the need to preserve the ecology in a natural state, the owners of Casa do Sol have set aside 500 hectares of virgin, indigenous bush as a nature reserve. Breeding herds of a variety of antelope and other non-aggressive game peacefully roam the reserve. Guests have the unique pleasure of hiking through the bush on their own, and in complete safety.

Extensive trails have been marked out by the Casa do Sol conservationist for your guidance. Over 100 different species of trees have been marked according to the Africa List. Casa do Sol has committed itself to the nurturing and preservation of wild flora and fauna.

If walking and hiking are not your thing, Casa do Sol offers a wealth of other activities including floodlit Tennis, Bass Fishing, Rowing, Game and Bird Watching, Paint Ball and Bush Barbeques. Other nearby activities are Trout Fishing, 5 Golf Courses, 4 x 4 Trails, Quad Biking, Night Safaris and the Shangaan Cultural Village.
