Shishangeni Lodge Description

Shishangeni is a large and welcoming lodge in a private concession of the Kruger National Park. The 22 rooms are enormous brick and thatch constructions divided into two snake-like wings.

Each room has a large free-standing bath, outdoor shower, separate toilet, sitting area, dressing room, mini bar and double-sided fireplace. 22 individual chalets accommodating 44 guests, all luxuriously appointed with a private game-viewing deck as well as mini bar, fireplace, outdoor shower and sitting area. Inter-leading rooms for families are available upon request.

The main house is a massive double-volume thatch, timber and brick construction in the shape of a shield with a wooden deck running its length. Comprising a sitting area with a fireplace, a small bar and the large dining area, the room – and indeed the rest of the lodge - is an interesting African art deco concoction that will keep you guessing.

Game drives are offered twice a day in custom-made 4x4 vehicles that are in radio contact with the other vehicles at the lodge – so if they see something, you’ll know about it soon enough.
