Camp Shonga is a small intimate bush retreat built in the foothills of the Lebombo Mountains, offering views over the African bushveld as far as the eye can see. Camp Shonga shares the same ethos as Camp Shawu, but with the added emphasis of guests’ participation in select environmental awareness programmes.
Although located in ‘Big 5’ terrain of the Kruger National Park, the objective of Camp Shonga is for guides to equally share their vast knowledge of the ‘little 5’ as well as the varying eco-systems with their guests, so ensuring an all-round safari experience. Accommodated in 5 luxurious tents, Camp Shonga has a classic safari feel.

Camp Shonga : Going on Safari
Camp Shonga is located on a 15 000 hectare private concession within the Kruger National. Open vehicle game drives allow you to experience close up sightings of Africa 's Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo ) with professional rangers and trackers.
The Kruger National Park is a vast and wild national park that is bigger in size than some European countries! The game is prolific, the sunsets magnificent and the feeling of quite, tranquil space will create lasting memories and a deep love of Africa.

Camp Shonga is situated in the south eastern area of the Kruger National Park near the crocodile river. It is approximately 110 km from Kruger Mpumulanga airport and only about 5 – 6 hours from Johannesburg International Airport by road transfer.
