Pafuri Lodge DescriptionPafuri Camp’s thatch and timber buildings have been tucked underneath the generous canopies of the ebony, acacia and mopane trees that line the river. The result is an unobtrusive and intimate encounter with the true wilderness of the Makuleke region in five-star luxury. The main lodge overlooks the perennial Luvhuvhu River and houses the dining room and bar beneath cool thatch; the swimming pool and boma are secluded open-air spaces. Twenty luxury tented rooms, each with en-suite bathroom and protected by a thatch superstructure, look out over the river and you can share a sundowner on your deck with elephant, nyala, waterbuck, bushbuck… See the ‘big five’, rare species of antelope and huge herds of elephant and buffalo. The area is a birding destination with endemic rarities such as Böhm's and bottled spinetails, racket-tailed roller, three-banded courser and southern hyliota. |
