The private reserves all have airstrips located a short game drive from the lodges and there are a handful of commercial airports in the region.
Flight options include daily commercial departures and scheduled and private charters; in addition, charter flights hop between lodges and reserves daily. If you have the wherewithal, we recommend fly-in safaris for convenience, comfort and a fulfilling safari experience.
The Kruger Park and its private annexes cover an area the size of Israel. Within this area there are several biospheres each offering a different habitat and creating an incredible diversity of flora and fauna in the region. With a fly-in safari, you can experience this diversity by hopping between two or more lodges during your stay. With a lodge-hop fly-in safari you could be spotting leopard on your morning game drive in Sabi Sands and counting elephant on your evening game drive in Makuleke Private Concession.
