Don't hesitate to contact your Rhino Africa consultant for help with getting around Kenya and to the Tsavo Plains and back - all in one piece!
The most common way to reach Tsavo is per vehicle. Whether you hire a car or have an organized transport to your camp of choice. The drive from Nairobi to Tsavo can be very interesting especially if your guide knows the history of the various towns and shopping centres that you drive by. The Tsavo Parks are bisected by the main Nairobi- Mombasa Highway. Which means you can literally see animals at the roadside.
The most central town for access to the parks is Voi, although the smaller town of Mtito Andei is the headquarters of Tsavo West. From Nairobi the first significant town is Athi River, followed by Salama, Email, Kiboko, Kibwezi, Mtito Adei, Tsavo, Manyani and finally Voi. Voi is only 160Km from Mombasa.
Many of the lodges in the area can be accessed by private charter plane. Should you choose to take this option you will be afforded a magnificent view as you fly over Kenya. Try and see what game you can spot from the air!
