Hop a flight, take a train, hire a car or jump on a dhow sailing boat - however you want to get here, we can make it happen!
Seeing as it is Kenya's second largest city and premier port, Mombasa is pretty well-connected in terms of transport. You can fly here direct from Nairobi several times a day - it takes less than an hour from Wilson Airport. The road between Nairobi and Mombasa is well-tarred and the ride should take about 10 hours. There is also a railway line running from Mombasa westwards - book a first-class ticket and hop aboard for an overnight train ride.
There are no direct scheduled flights between Mombasa and international destinations, excluding Zanzibar. But there are charter flights between European cities (e.g. London) and Mombasa - one of our consultants can supply all the details.
Getting to some of the beach resorts can be slightly more tricky since they may be inaccessible by road or only by 4x4 vehicles. The main way to reach the south coast is aboard the Likoni motorized ferry. The northern resorts can be reached by road - though in both instances the more adventurous could take a dhow sailing boat!
NB: Our travel consultants can organise a private charter flight, sort you out with a road transfer or help you hire a vehicle. Even book you a railway ticket. However you want to reach Mombasa or its myriad coastal resorts, we will make it happen.Don't delay - contact us to plan your tailormade trip!
