Cottars 1920s Camp

Cottar's 1920s Camp is as much a salute to the grand old days of East Africa safari as it is a luxurious and exclusive wildlife camp in a private concession, sandwiched by two of Africa's most famous parks: Masai Mara and the Serengeti.

Cottars 1920s Camp Information

The phrases 'Colonial', 'Bygone era' and 'Romance of yesteryear' are about as commonplace on the safari circuit as wildebeest during migration. However, when it comes to Cottar's 1920s Camp, they are valid since this luxury camp is like an East Africa safari museum.

And if your respect for those African safari pioneers goes up a notch you'll be on your knees for the porters: they lugged coffin-sized folding beds, enormous supply trunks, reams of tenting and of course ordnance enough to start a revolution.

The safari experience and the guides are excellent, the private concession is almost devoid of human interference and, unlike in days of yore, the luxury and service are as good as you'll get!

Lodge Highlights

  • Luxurious spacious tents with antique furniture
  • Private butler, personal game ranger and vehicle
  • Exclusive concession between Masai Mara & Serengeti
  • Swimming pool, massage therapy & well-stocked library
  • Night and day game drives, bush walks & sunset drives

Exclusive safari between Masai Mara and Serengeti Reserves

The camp is in an exclusive concession between the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya and the Serengeti in Tanzania. Over 100,00ha of prime East Africa wilderness serve as your private safari region; the grass-covered landscape undulates gently and every year a million or so wildebeest and zebra traipse through on their quest for fresh grazing.
