Ocean Eleven is an Olde Worlde, Cape Cod, Colonial-style guesthouse, situated on the famous cliffs of Hermanus. The picturesque mountains beyond gently embrace the phenomenal, all encompassing vista of the bay. The main house of Ocean Eleven was built with all the high ceilings, tall windows and teak floors that made Colonial architecture so utterly elegant. All these features - and thus the grace and style - have been retained to this day.
Ocean Eleven boasts ten beautifully appointed rooms - three standard, five deluxe and two suites. Every bedroom has an all-embracing sea view over Walker Bay. The rooms have a variety of features from wooden floors, to high ceiling and are each individual and special in their own right. Above all else we believe that it is Ocean Eleven’s spectacular location on the Hermanus cliffs that really gives this guesthouse its special edge.

Ocean Eleven : Whale watching
In June and December, Hermanus becomes home to a large number of Southern Right Whales. They flock to the shores of the Western Cape to mate and calve, but more importantly, to awe spectators. Hermanus has become known for being the best place in the world to do land based whale watching. With a 12 kilometres stretch of cliff paths, visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty of the village, while being entertained by the antics of these giants of the sea. Whales can sometimes be seen from as close as five meters from the rocky cliffs.
Hermanus also houses the worlds only Whale Crier, Wilson Salukazana, who patrols the streets and cliff paths, alerting everyone to the whereabouts of the whales by blowing on his kelp horn. Different horn "codes" refer to different points along the coastline where whales have been spotted. The key to these codes is found on the sandwich board he wears as part of his outfit.
