De Zeekoe is a working farm of 200 hectares in the semi-desert of the Klein Karoo, just 7km from the historic town of Oudtshoorn. It is situated at the end of Route 62, a fascinating inland meander that runs for 450km from Cape Town through vineyards, mountains and rivers. The guesthouse is made up of a historic colonial homestead that is over 150 years old. There are stunning views of the Swartberg mountains and Olifants Riverbed and the whole area is malaria free so no need for medication. There are also a range of facilities for children, such as a swimming pool so De Zeekoe can cater for everyone, from couples to groups and families.
In the main house, there are luxury suites each with well-appointed bathrooms and private verandahs that provide panoramic vistas of the rugged mountains and meandering rivers. If you are looking for more privacy, then the rustic log cabins should do the trick. Just 5 minutes from the main house, there are 4 exclusive cabins looking out onto De Zeekoe Lake. The views over the water are spectacular and there are birds for Africa! Each cabin comes with 2 bedrooms, a bath with shower, lounge, kitchenette and a large fireplace and deck.
