Eagles Crag Lodge is nestled in a lush valley on the 25000 hectare Shamwari Private Game Reserve. For guests seeking the ultimate in luxurious living, privacy and tranquillity – Eagles Crag is an excellent place to unwind in beautiful surroundings.

Each of the nine superior rooms has been built to maximize the luxury and privacy for guests in the most tranquil of settings. The en-suite rooms boast a private deck with private pool, as well as, indoor and outdoor showers.

Decorated in light and contemporary colours, with wall-to-wall glass doors on two sides, these rooms provide stunning views of the surrounding cliffs. The Eagles Crag luxury spa offers a wide variety of personalised treatments. The upstairs dining room and lounge, library, and cocktail bar all further compliment the "African bush experience".

Shamwari Eagles Crag is ideally situated in the world renowned Shamwari Game Reserve, a 25000 hectare malaria free wilderness in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Game drives in open Landrovers are an especially rewarding experience at Shamwari as the reserve has a major focus on conservation and rangers are thus well-informed and extremely knowledgeable. And if you stay a few days, your chances of spotting the Big Five are pretty good!

The rangers are in two-way communication with each other at all times, so on any day they know where the game is, and how to find elusive animals such as the rare Black Rhino. To ensure the lasting sustainability of the reserve as an ecosystem rich in biodiversity, Shamwari’s ecology department strives to protect and where necessary to improve the environment. The Wildlife Department has received the Global Nature Fund Award for Best Conservation Practice.
