Kariega Game Reserve is situated in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa along the famous Garden Route. From the minute you arrive at Kariega's Ukhozi Lodge you’ll feel like you are on safari. Generous bowls of ostrich eggs, carvings, African artefacts and rich textures ensure that the suites, lounges, restaurant and boma all have a distinct African feel about them.
When you are not on a Game Drive you can choose to unwind in front of a warm log fire, or perhaps cool off in the heated swimming pool. Kariega Ukhozi places a great deal of emphasis on the cuisine and the chefs whisk up magical meals that are served in the Restaurant or outside under the stars in the Boma. Accommodation itself consists of 10 airconditioned suites that each have a private viewing deck and heated plunge pool. The en-suite bathrooms are well-appointed and there is a spacious living area with all creature comforts.

An array of activities in Reserve
Kariega Game Reserve is 9000 hectares of Malaria Free wilderness, which plays home to 25 game species and 280 different types of birds. The reserve is split in two distinct areas. The first area is dedicated to general game and birdlife, and it is in this area that the experienced Game Rangers offer game walks, mountain biking, canoeing, sunset cruises, and swimming in the Kariega or Bushmans River.
The second area is newer and it is here that you can view the Big Five from the safety of the open vehicles. Spot lion and leopard roaming for prey or elephant, rhino and buffalo bludgeoning their way through the bush. In the surrounding area you can enjoy golfing on superb courses or take a trip to the golden beaches of Kenton-On-Sea.
