Kariega Main Lodge | DescriptionKariega Main Lodge is set within the 9000 hectare Kariega Game Reserve just over 100km north of Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. The reserve is home to the Big Five so there is great game viewing at all times of the year. Main Lodge is the most affordable of the four Kariega lodges and the best option for families or groups. Having said that, it is still ideal for couples or single travellers with its private and luxurious rooms overlooking the African bush. Accommodation comprises 19 luxurious and spacious fully serviced 4 star rated log chalets, with 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms. They are all en-suite with their own viewing decks providing wonderful vistas of the reserve below. Some chalets come with private plunge pools which offer a welcome escape from the heat. There is a main pool and sun deck as well so you can catch a tan and wallow in the water! Here you can enjoy complete privacy, spectacular views and intimate contact with nature. All cabins are equipped with fully fitted kitchens, and therefore self catering options are available. For those that prefer a spectacular architectural awardwinning pub and restaurant nestled in indigenous bush with commanding views of the reserve, serves tasty traditional South African cuisine or guests can enjoy the experience of a meal in the open air boma.
