Selous Safari Camp Information

Set on the banks of the Rufiji River, Selous Safari Camp offers exclusive safari accommodation in the heart of the magnificent Selous Game Reserve – a World Heritage Site. Raised on wooden platforms and well-spaced for privacy, each safari tent features a dressing area, hand basins and w.c, an outdoor shower and a spacious veranda. All suites have lovely water views of either the river or the lakes.

Guest areas at Selous Safari Camp comprise spacious sitting, dining and bar areas, elevated on stilts with sweeping views of the mighty Rufiji River. A generous swimming pool allows for exercise or simply cooling off in the heat of the day. Guests may enjoy delicious Pan-African cuisine served in the dining area or a sumptuous bush banquet in a surprise setting.

Selous Safari Camp: Activities

Selous Safari Camp is ideally positioned at the centre of a unique riverine and lake complex, in the heart of the Selous, offering guests a wide range of wildlife-related activities and water-based adventures.
Expert rangers will lead you on exciting, twice-daily game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles. Teeming with African wildlife and with very few roads in the interior, the Selous Game Reserve offers exclusive game viewing and birdwatching.

Game viewing from intimate riverboats (maximum four guests per boat) on the mighty Rufiji River is one of the best ways to explore the Selous, meandering through channels and discovering hidden lagoons where elephants often come to bathe. Walking with an armed, professional ranger allows intimate observation of the 2 000 species of plants and fascinating wildlife.

Selous Safari Camp is located on the banks of the Rufiji River in the northeastern sector of the Selous Game Reserve, southern Tanzania. Regular scheduled flights from Dar es Salaam and Arusha to Siwandu, Selous Safari Camp’s private airstrip is 15 minutes from camp. Rhino Africa can organise all transfers and flights.

Swala Camp
