If you yearn for a safari with a bit of excitement; a safari that takes you just a little bit out of your comfort zone and far from the popular tourist areas then Lions of Lobo is for you. The tented semi-permanent camp sleeps just ten. Three bathroom tents have bucket showers with hot water and flushing toilets. During the day, a quiet generator maintains the essentials: ice cold drinks, fresh meals and camera electronics. By night it's all hurricane lamps, firelight and the great starry sky above.

Food is prepared fresh and before your eyes on an open fire and the atmosphere is warm and relaxing. Carel is an accomplished wildlife photographer and an experienced game guide. Your game walks and drives traverse the koppie-strewn eastern Serengeti – famous for its large prides of lion and annual migration of wildebeest.

Documentary filming & photography

Lions of Lob is a purpose-built photography camp. Be a part of the documentary filming process, improve your own photography skills and star in your show. The cameras continue to roll in the background and a short clip of your experience is presented to you at the end of you stay. Carel Verhoef leads the photographic wildlife expeditions on foot and in safari vehicles. The scenic Lobo area sees few visitors and has an abundance of wildlife including large prides of lion, plenty of leopard and of course the annual wildebeest migration that makes Serengeti one the world's most well-known game parks.
