Tarangire Treetops is your personal palace in the African bush. A rustic veneer does little to mask the comfort. Enormous suites have been built into baobab trees with balconies that extend beyond your peripheral vision. The décor is unfussy and the bathrooms ample – double showers, twin vanities and flushing toilets. Your walk to the main living area goes by way of lantern-lit, ranger-escorted pathways through thickets of wild fig and mopane trees. Your swimming pool, sun deck, lounge, bar and restaurant all look out over a waterhole that is known for excellent elephant sightings. After the magnificent wildlife experience, food and service are high priorities at this Elewana-owned lodge. Cindy presides over fabulous four course meals prepared and presented with African flare and inter-continental influence.

Private game viewing

The highlight of this lodge is a walking safari. And not simply the fact that you can do them – although that in itself is enough. The walks are led by Glen and his team of knowledgeable and experienced guides who will invite you into an intricate world of plants and animals. Elephants – a lucky sighting in the valleys below the escarpment – are abundant up in the plateau area. At Tarangire Treetops, in front of the waterhole you're sure to have an excellent encounter of the world's largest land mammals.
