Le Pommier Country Lodge General Information

Zorgvliet is a large wine farm in the Banhoek Valley near Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands with three accommodation choices: the Zorgvliet Suites, Banhoek Vineyard Lodge and Le Pommier Country Lodge.

Le Pommier Country Lodge is the original accommodation offering at Zorgvliet. Six suites, individually decorated and enormous, occupy a small corner of the estate, surrounded by vineyards and a dramatic view of the Drakenstein and Simonsberg mountains. Each room has a light and breezy feel in summer and a cosy welcome in winter – thanks to the fireplaces. Le Pommier Restaurant is a mixture of Southern France and South Africa: lots of meaty dishes with some interesting turns and fresh presentation; of course, the wine list is excellent and the dining terrace overlooks a lavender-filled potager garden; vineyards and the mountains complete the event.

Experience life in South Africa's wine country first hand on this working wine farm. Zorgvliet produces an impressive range of wines and offers tasting, sales, personalised labels and tours of the winery. The farm has two restaurants – Le Pommier and Zorgvliet Herenhuis, which is the original manor house, built in 1692 and, with its dam, vineyards, gardens and the backdrop of mountains, is a popular wedding and conference venue. Zorgvliet also has a full-treatment health and beauty spa and a coffee shop that sells picnic supplies.
