Villa Grande General InformationThe immaculate garden and ordered façade of Villa Grande - Neil Lambrechts's restored 1920s double storey home in Stellenbosch – belie the eclectic and dazzling décor of the interior. The lounge, and the social centre of the house, is decorated with ornate gold frames, renaissance art, stuffed couches, Persian carpets, wooden floors, chandeliers, bright walls and splashes of floral colour. Rooms are equally opulent with African or Victorian themes, restored wooden floors, sash windows, original artworks and plenty of light and space. Villa Grande come in a variety of flavours of sizes, each receiving special attention from Neil himself. At entry level, the standards have en suite bathrooms with shower, twin or double beds, wooden floors and the standard guesthouse amenities including TV, tea and coffee, heating, hairdryer and alarm clock. Upwards from the standards, the luxury and deluxe rooms and the honeymoon suite have air conditioning, more space, bigger beds, and plenty of attention to the bathroom detail. Villa Grande offers dinners on request and breakfast is served on the oak-shaded terrace; wintry evenings are best started and ended in the lounge in front of the fire. |
