Rusthuiz Guest House General Information

Rusthuiz is a neat and comfortable guesthouse on the Eerste River that winds through the winelands town of Stellenbosch. Above an ordered garden with pathways, fountains and the fresh smell of roses, the double-storey guest house rises in measured proportions with bay windows, a wide and welcoming front verandah, a large balcony with Victorian balustrades, and a soothing air of tranquil decorum.

The lounge is crammed with hearty comforts like an open fireplace, sofas you can really sink into, and think Persian carpets. The rooms at Rusthuiz are spacious and uncluttered – colours are neutral and complimentary; decorative features are restrained and purposeful. Behind the house is a secluded garden – Rene certainly is green-fingered - and a small pool with recliners, umbrellas and time enough to stop and smell the roses. From your place of refuge against the mania of enjoying the Cape Winelands, you can walk to the main streets of Stellenbosch town; and the nature reserves and hundreds of excellent wine farms are all a short drive or an energetic cycle away.
