The Metropole Hotel is something quite unique. Outside the hotel maintains its Victorian authenticity and graciousness, in contrast the inside the hotel is modern and luxurious with quirky details and uncluttered and sensational rooms and suites. A signature theme of Mauve and Taupe is carried throughout the hotel rooms, the well sized rooms have all the facilities you would expect of a hotel of this calibre.

Shake and stir at the Metropole Hotel's modern M Bar, one of Cape Town’s hottest nightspots. Warm, chic and intimate, the M Bar & Lounge is decorated in vibrant reds and oranges, and its always a race to see if you can get the table with the Versace Couch. Our advise is to watch the cartoon strip videos – all is not what it seems. Meals are served in the a la Carte Restaurant called the Verandah, which looks out the length of Long Street.

Long Street is a lively and interesting street in the middle of Cape Town. The top section of the street where the Cape Metropole is located is lined with magnificently restored Georgian and Victorian. Wrought iron balconies and fancy lacy lacework on these colourful houses create an impression reminiscent of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Today there is lots to see and do including antique dealers, secondhand bookstores, Pan African Markets, clothing stores. Long Street is also the Heart of the backpacking community.
