Liberty Lodge in Cape Town South Africa

Liberty Lodge takes the concept of “Bed and Breakfast” to a new level. This is a house with many a tale to tell. She has had a chequered career as a Victorian gentleman’s townhouse, a fabric emporium and even a bordello in the 1940’s. After all these changes of character, she has at last become a wonderfully warm environment with new secrets to unfold at every turn. She has a lovely, generous feeling with many loved antiques and collected items and has won the heart of many a traveller and business guest alike. Liberty Lodge is extremely popular as a honeymoon choice because of the highly romantic décor of the rooms – each unique and special. Friendly staff are always on hand to offer help and advice.

Each bedroom is decorated dramatically and equipped with telephones with private lines suitable for PC connection, wall safes, TV (MNet), alarm clocks, hair dryers, heaters, fans (some with air conditioners). Beds are dressed with pure cotton percale duvets and each room is en-suite with shower (one is equipped with shower over a bath). They have access either to a communal terrace with lovely views or a magical courtyard where in summer the staff serve a sumptuous breakfast to a bustling table of entertaining guests.

Kloof Street is one of Cape Town’s most fashionable streets, the street has many wonderful shops and restaurants. During the day we recommend walking the length of Kloof Street and Long Street, here you will find plenty of antique dealers, second hand booksellers, Pan African Markets and funky vintage clothing shops. It is one of the best browsing streets in the city. Restaurant wise we highly recommend Manolos , Greens Restaurant, Saigon and La Vie.
