We truly believe that the hotels in the City Centre of Cape Town are packed full of character and really give you a sense of the vibrancy of Cape Town. Enjoy panoramic views of Table Mountain from the comfort of your room.
Stay at sophisticated boutique hotels such as Kensington Place where the owners personal welcome you, or stay at more affordable city hotels such as The Cape Milners which act as a great base from which to explore the City and its environs. Cape Town City Centre offers great value for money and in our opinion one of the over looked destinations in Cape Town. Many people place great importance in staying in the Waterfront or Camps Bay, whilst the city, on international terms, is very small and the areas very close to each other. Staying at hotels in the City centre has you right in the middle of everything.

Arguably the most famous hotel in Cape Town is the
Mount Nelson Hotel. This big pink hotel is so well known that it’s a South African landmark! The hotel has very beautiful gardens, large swimming pools, tennis courts and the most delicious and legendary afternoon tea. A short distance away you will find
Welgelegen Guesthouse, which is a small and welcoming guesthouse, ideal for guests who want good value for money combined with good honest hospitality.
The Cape Cadogan is one of our favourite Cape Town hotels, this boutique hotel is classical decorated in creams and whites and makes a great base from which to explore Kloof Street.
If you enjoy staying in a hotel that is ‘hip and happening’ then consider
Kensington Place which is located in the exclusive suburb of Higgovale. This hotel has won many awards including best City Centre Boutique Hotel. Alta Bay and Four Rosmead offer similar experience. We particularly like
2Inn1 Kensington, this new boutique hotel has 9 rooms and one of the largest pools in the city centre. Alternatively the new Hippo boutique hotel is modern and fitted with all the facilities you would require from computers in each room, 24 hour internet access, and filter coffee machines in each room. One of our favourite hotels in Cape Town is
The Cape Heritage Hotel in Heritage Square, the hotel has lots of fabulous restaurants in the immediate vicinity as well as being close to the Waterfront and the roads to Camps Bay and Clifton.
If you are looking for an affordable option then
The Cape Milner is a great choice. Located on the road between the Waterfront and Table Mountain, the hotel has a large swimming pool and views of Table Mountain. An extremely popular option is
Cape Town Hollow which is situated a few paces away from Company Gardens, this budget style hotel is good value for money and makes the ideal stayover if you plan to spend your days exploring.
The hotels in the City Centre itself are undergoing a resurgence and as the inner city developments are being improved more and more guests are staying in the CBD. Hotels in this area include
Hollow on the Square,
Protea North Wharf and
The Town House Hotel.
In our opinion the Cape Town’s City Centre hotels offer some of the best value for money opportunities, it’s a destination we highly recommend and as true Capetonians fully endorse.
