During the summer everyone wants to stay in Camps Bay. The reality is there are too few hotels and too much demand - simple economics means that the prices are relatively high. However, for this you do get uninterrupted seaviews, spectacular sunsets and an address with some real kudos.
The government has placed limitations on the number of rooms and hotels that can be developed in Camps Bay. As a result Camps Bay accommodation is at a premium. Large hotels include The Bay Hotel and Twelve Apostles, whilst smaller boutique guesthouses include Ezard House and Le Gouverneur. Many guests opt to stay in a Camps Bay Villa and there are a wide choice of self catering luxury villas to choose from. Camps Bay has been developed on a steep cliff and therefore a hire car is vital for getting around.

The most famous of the Camps Bay Hotels is
The Bay Hotel. Cape Town’s only true beachfront hotel, the Bay Hotel’s cream and white tones make it a cool retreat in the summer. The hotel has a wide variety of room types, from Mountain Facing Classic Rooms, to suites and the penthouse with a full sea view.
Out of Camps Bay, and on the road to Llandudno, you will find the
Twelve Apostles Hotel. This large hotel has seaviews, but unlike the Bay Hotel does not have access to a beach. The hotel has a fantastic spa as well as a mountain trail. A hire car is essential when staying at The Twelve Apostles.
Primi Royal and
Primi Sea Castle are two affordable Boutique Hotels close to the beach in Camps Bay. Decorated in a Balinese style, the hotels are small and intimate and ideal for guests wanting to be close to the clubs, beach, bars and restaurants.
Up the hill towards the top of Camps Bay you will find
Ezard House. Owned and run by Don Ezard this small boutique hotel has spectacular ocean views, great personalized service and exceptionally discrete attention to detail.
