Backed by the familiar shape of Table Mountain, Cape Town presides over a coastline of unsurpassed beauty, of mountains edging the sea, miles of beaches, and 18th century wineries napping under giant oaks. Modern South Africa was born here, and the city is filled with reminders of its historic role in overseas trade between Europe and the East. Today Cape Town is home to the country’s best museums, restaurants and hotels.
- The Waterfront is a hustling and bustling complex built within a working harbour. Find shops, restaurants and hotels at the harbour's edge.
- The sea at the Cape Town Beaches is cold, but the heady smell of sun oil, beautiful people and the 'in' crowd more than make up for the chilly waters!
- Kirstenbosch & Constantia are located about 20 minutes from the centre of Cape Town and allow you to escape the crowds.
- Holidays spent in Cape Town are about many things including great food, good wines, long summers and friendly hospitality.
There are several different places in Cape Town. The V&A Waterfront is the most popular place to stay, with several five and four star hotels all within close vicinity of the shops and restaurants. The City Bowl is a more affordable and still ensures you are close to the major attractions. If your looking for beaches then head towards Camps Bay, Bantry Bay, Clifton and Seapoint, whilst the beaches of the Cape Peninsula are warmer. If you enjoy your peace and quiet then consider staying in and around Kirstenbosch or Constantia.

We love Cape Town. Our offices are based in Cape Town and it's therefore a destination with which we are particularly familiar. We thoroughly enjoy encouraging guests to visit our home city. Generally speaking, there are several ways of holidaying to Cape Town.
Combine 3 or 4 days on Safari with 4 or 5 days in Cape Town This is one of our most popular tailormade tours and can be easily adjusted to suit your individual holiday requirements and budget. We recommend flying into Cape Town to spend a few days relaxing and exploring, before heading north to one of the Safari Lodges in the Kruger Park or Madikwe Reserve. For safari you would depart from Johannesburg.
Garden Route and Cape TownWe recommend you spend 4 or 5 nights in Cape Town before heading along the Garden Route The Garden Route describes a scenic drive that originates in Hermanus and follows the N2 and Route 62 East towards Port Elizabeth. We recommend that you spend anything from 4–7 nights on the Garden Route. It’s a perfect destination for golfers as well as having some lovely country house style hotels. This trip can then be topped off with a safari in the Eastern Cape or if you prefer flying to Johannesburg for 3 nights in the Kruger
Victoria Falls, Cape Town and KrugerAwkward flight times mean that its impossible to fly between Victoria Falls and the Kruger Park without spending a night in Johannesburg . This can however be avoided if you start in Victoria Falls, then travel to Cape Town, before heading on safari in the Kruger. This is one of our most popular tours as it gives you several contrasting safari experiences.
Just Cape Town
Whilst most first time visitors come to South Africa and include a few different destinations, its not unusual for second or third time visitors to the South Africa to just spend all their holiday time in Cape Town. Whether you choose to rent a villa for a few weeks, or simply find a beautiful hotel to relax in, Cape Town makes the perfect destination for an extended stay.
