andBeyond Botswana Explorer

Secluded mobile camping in the Botswanan wild

This mobile-tented safari takes you through the wilderness hotspots of Botswana. Experience everything from the waterways of the Okavango Delta to the wildlife-dense Chobe National Park and the contrasting landscapes of Savute. The trip ends with an opportunity to admire the magnificent Victoria Falls.

The andBeyond Botswana Explorer is a great way to get up close with the bush, wildlife and people and experience the truly wild side of Africa. Of course, you'll still have the luxurious touches that you can expect with any tour that we, Rhino Africa Safaris, recommend. Enjoy the serenity of private campsites and the comfort of spacious fully-serviced wilderness camping. A maximum of 6 guests per safari ensures that you are guaranteed a window seat with top views. The safari tents have comfy linen-adorned beds and ensuite bathrooms, with a flush w.c and refreshing bucket shower, to wash off the African heat and dirt as you go.

Go on exciting game drives in the Delta, in Moremi Wildlife Reserve, Chobe National Park and Savute, see the majestic African Lion and the staggering herds of elephants in the Chobe - even spot them crossing the river from time to time on a pivate boat cruise on the Chobe River. And take in the beauty if the world-renowned Victoria Falls.

The camp staff travel ahead to ensure that the mobile camp is fully set up and a warm welcome awaits as you arrive at each destination. The &Beyond campsites in private concessions in the reserves change from time to time to give the earth a breather and ensure a lower eco-footprint.

Day 5-7: Chobe National Park – Savute

A long game drive (5 – 6 hours) takes you to Savute, where the previously dry channel has been strongly flowing for the past few years. The now lush vegetation attracts scores of elephant and buffalo, as well as a range of antelope and the accompanying predators. Awaken to the call of the fish eagle as you camp near the channel for two nights and marvel at the hippos and crocodiles, as well as the magnificent lions the area is renowned for.

Day 7-9: Savute – Serondela

From Savute, move up to northern Chobe (4 – 5 hours overland game drive), where you will camp for two nights in the Serondela area. This is the heart of elephant country and you may spend many hours watching the huge herds in and around the waters of the Chobe River on game drives or private boat cruises. Northern Chobe is renowned for its large variety of bird and animal life, beautiful scenery and magnificent sunsets.

All guests staying at the camp will have an opportunity to meet the elephants.

Included in your stay at The Elephant Camp are soft drinks, house wine, local beer, teas and coffees.
