Xugana Lagoon is widely accepted as the most astounding permanent-water site in the Okavango Delta. One could say that makes Xugana Island Lodge one of the area’s most sought-after spots, giving guests a chance to experience the Delta at its wettest and greenest.
The lodge stands on a wooded island on the Xugana Lagoon, which means most of the activities are water-based. Explore the Delta’s waters on a mokoro or motorboat adventure, or go fishing for tiger fish and bream. Xugana is especially renowned for its bird-watching opportunities, particularly in the summer months. Guided nature walks are also offered.
The lodge has 8 Chalets and sleeps a maximum of 16 guests. Each Chalet is made from thatch and reed and comes with twin-size beds, an en-suite bathroom, walk-in showers and a private deck. Al fresco dinners and drinks are served under a canopy of fig and leadwood trees, while safe and relaxing dips can be taken in the swimming pool in the centre of the island.
