The Chobe Enclave is one of Botswana’s best-kept secrets. This protected corner of the country boasts high concentrations of wildlife and few places to view them from. Guests will be forgiven for thinking they have the entire enclave to themselves - particularly from Saile Tented Camp. Get a true taste of Africa’s outback.
The enclave is framed by the Linyanti marshes and the Chobe river. The marshes had run dry for years but suddenly heavy summer rains in 2008 saw water flowing again, and with it came an abundance of wildlife. This area showcases some of the best of the continent’s wildlife from elephant, buffalo and plains game, to lion, leopard and wild dog. Botswana is also known to be a birdwatchers paradise and twitchers will delight in the amount of species found here.
Saile Tented Camp is home to 6 well-appointed Meru-style tents overlooking the Linyanti Marsh. Each tent has an en suite bathroom and bucket showers ensuring that guests will truly feel at one with the landscape. The camp largely caters for small groups and independent travellers. A safari here is sure to be an intimate one.
