With so many different ways of grading hotels it is difficult to know what to expect. The Rhino Rating system gives you the verdict straight from the Rhino's mouth.
We make a point of personally visiting and evaluating all the lodges and hotels that we feature on the website. If a place is truly awful, then we won't feature it at all.
What do we look for? Well we don't have a laborious checklist. We prefer to go on the 'overall experience' . We tend to focus on the hosts/owners and managers. If they are caring and passionate about their establishment, then the rest normally flows from there. We look for exceptional character and genuine friendliness, humerous hosts, value for money, spectacular views, exciting experiences, great food, real coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, big baths, attention to detail, useful amenities, crisp percale cotton sheets, cleanliness, the unique and the luxurious. And of course we listen to the feedback from all our clients! If we ever receive a complaint about a property we will address it immediately with the supplier.
5 Rhinos = Rhinotastic! Mindbogglingly exceptional in all departments.
4 Rhinos = High quality accommodation and service.
3 Rhinos = Good value for money.
2 Rhinos = Like a rhino in a zoo. Best avoided, but if it's the only option...
