Rhino Africa provides all clients with financial protection in the event of default by our suppliers. It won't cost you a cent but will protect your investment, giving you complete peace of mind not only while on holiday, but throughout the booking process.
In these turbulent economic times, the reality is that companies are going out of business. As your tour operator we respect your investment and want to make sure that you are protected when booking your holiday. Rhino Africa is the only tour operator in Africa who has voluntarily taken out financial default insurance for the benefit of our clients. This is in addition to being an accredited SATSA member.
Rhino Africa's financial default insurance is provided by Guardrisk (rated AA for its claims paying ability). They are the largest specialist insurer in South Africa. The cover provided by them has been arranged with Marsh (incorporating Alexander Forbes). Marsh is the world's leading insurance broker and risk advisor.
This cover provides protection against financial loss as a result of the insolvency of one of our suppliers (lodges, hotels, guest houses, cruise liners, tour operators and transport providers excluding international air travel). It protects Rhino Africa and consequently you against the loss of deposits or final payments and is included in each booking completely free of charge.
The financial default insurance covers all aspects of your travel package booked with Rhino Africa. You do not get this protection if you book direct. You are welcome to speak to your consultant directly who will be able to answer any further questions that you might have.
It is important to note that this financial protection is not travel insurance. You will have to make sure that you are appropriately covered against cancellation fees and curtailment costs in case of medical reasons preventing you from travelling.
Affiliations and Bonding
Bonding has long been a problem for African based Tour Operators trying to attract International visitors, particularly those from Europe, which are protected by bonding agencies abroad. Through our SATSA affiliation, Rhino Africa is now a bonded agency, completing the circle of a one stop travel shop to Africa.
SATSA stands for the Southern Africa Tourism Services Association, and through our membership it testifies that we have a financial guarantee in place to cover monetary deposits lodged with Rhino Africa in advance of services to be rendered. For more information visit the SATSA website.
